Responsible data – best practice
The changing digital landscape means that data is an increasingly important part of advocacy and campaigning. However mismanaged data can put communities, activists and organizations at risk, especially in the context of shrinking civil society space. Using the data lifecycle from design through collection, storage, and sharing to disposal of data, this session will focus on responsible data considerations of data advocacy. We’ll exchange strategies for dealing with ethical, security and privacy challenges facing data-driven advocacy while discussing common apprehension about dealing with data and share ideas about what good responsible data practice looks like.
